====== Oliver Whiten ====== | ====== Oliver Whiten ====== |
| |
| Son of unknown parents, Oliver Whiten was born during 1827. |
| |
| <note>Oliver Whiten is often associated with being the son of William Whiten and Sarah Margaret Waters, who lived in Dist. 14 of Habersham County, Georgia. However, the 1840 & 1850 U.S. Census records do not support this theory. However, it is likely that Oliver had a brother named Benjamin C. Whiten (born during 1824; who married Miss. Dicey Brewer on Feb. 12, 1845 in Habersham County, Georgia).</note> |

Georgia Marriages to 1850 [database on-line].)) |
| |
| <note>There was also a Rachel Elizabeth Holcombe, daughter of Alfred Holcombe & Rachel Crawford, in the area who some amateur genealogists have mistaken as the wife of Oliver Whiten. However, Rachel Elizabeth Holcombe was born in 1843 (meaning that she would have been 5 years old at the time of her marriage), and the census records indicate that she was still living with her parents in 1850.</note> |
