Son of Jackson Harvey (Harry) Randal and Mary Ann Trimble, Napoleon Bonaparte “Nap” Randal was born on Sept. 9, 1849 in Logansport (De Soto Parish), Louisiana.
“Nap” became a dentist and established a practice in Bosque Co, TX.
His first marriage was to Jeannette Mabray on March 3, 1875 in Bosque Co, TX. After 13 years of marriage, Jeannette died in November 14, 18881) in Bosque Co, probably from complications related to the birth of her daughter, Nettie, three months earlier.

BOSQUE CITIZEN
IN MEMORIAM
In Meridian, November 6 1888, after three days illness, Jeanette Randal, aged 27 years, 6 months, 8 days, died. She was born in this county on the 6th day of May, 1861, and was married to Dr. N. B. Randal of this county on March 2nd, 1875, and during a period of nearly 14 years the unity of a happy home was unbroken. She leaves a bereaved husband and 6 small children. She was a woman that possessed many rare and noble traits of character that go to make the true wife and devoted mother and was much loved and respected by those who best knew her.
Last rites were performed at the Meridian Cemetery on November 15, Reverend Taylor officiating.
“Nap's” second marriage was with Charlotte Stalling on June 9, 1889 in Bosque Co. This marriage ended in divorce.
His third marriage, to Sema Kolberg, took place on January 23, 1900 in Bosque Co. Sema was 27 years his junior and had been born in Norway. She had emigrated from Norway about 1894 and was living in Cranfills Gap, a small Norwegian community in Bosque Co.
The 1910 census shows “Nap” and Sema living in Walnut Springs, a community in Bosque Co. just 26 miles from Cranfills Gap. Six years later however, on Aug. 5, 1916, “Nap” died and is buried in Lamesa, Dawson Co, TX.
Why, after spending his entire professional life as a dentist in Bosque Co, did he choose to spend his few remaining years, or months, in Lamesa, TX, 316 miles West of Walnut Springs, his former home in Bosque Co? Sema may not have been with him. Four years after his death, she is recorded in the 1920 census as living alone as a widow, and still in Walnut Springs, Bosque Co. Why wasn't uncle “Nap” buried in Bosque Co?
