Elizabeth Mahaley Gwinn
[]
Daughter of Thomas Melmeth Gwinn (Feb. 1, 1827 in Laurens, South Carolina - May 29, 1901)1) & Eliza Gillespie (Sept. 20, 1825 - July 28, 1913)2), Elizabeth Mahaley Gwinn was born November 26, 1849 in South Carolina.
While there has been some confusion over the spelling of her last name, at that time, if it sounded the same (e.g., Gwinn / Gwin / Guine / Gwynn), then it was considered the same. However, “Gwinn” was the spelling that appeared on Thomas & Eliza's tombstones.
Thomas M. & Eliza Gwinn had the following children:
- Elizabeth Mahaley Gwinn Randall (Nov. 26, 1849 - Sept. 21, 1941)3) She married Oney Pickney Randall on March 5, 1868, in Franklin County, Georgia.
- Florence Lola M. Gwinn
- Eliza Allice Gwinn

Both Thomas M. Gwinn (Feb. 1, 1827 - May 29, 1901)6) & Eliza Gwinn (Sept. 20, 1825 - July 28, 1913)7) were buried at “Confidence Cemetery”, Avalon (Stephens County), Georgia. Although Thomas M. Gwinn's tombstone contains a “W” rather than an “M”, this is an obvious mistake.
