While there were several men named "Jesse Adams" who served in the Confederacy during "War of Northern Aggression", it is believed that Jesse Adams, served in the "34th Regiment, Georgia Infantry, Company K". | While there were several men named "Jesse Adams"who served in the Confederacy during "War of Northern Aggression", most families stayed together... many men joining the same units as their sons / fathers. On May 12, 1862, [[Franklin Epp Adams|Franklin Epp Adams]] (Jesse Adams oldest son) enlisted in the Georgia Volunteer Infantry, 34th Regiment, Company G. The following day, on May 13, 1862, Jesse Adams joined the same Regiment, but was assigned to the "34th Regiment, Georgia Infantry, Company K".((http://www.nps.gov/civilwar/search-soldiers-detail.htm?soldierId=42199D79-DC7A-DF11-BF36-B8AC6F5D926A)) It is not known why [[Franklin Epp Adams|Franklin Epp Adams]] joined the day before his father... perhaps an over zealous son - and a reluctant father. Whatever the reason for this slight separation, father and son both served in the Georgia Volunteer Infantry, 34th Regiment... only in different companies (G & K). |

Note: It is curious that while Thomas was listed as an "Adams" in the 1870 Census, he was listed as a "Clark" in the 1880 Census. Also curious is that, while the 1870 Census did not list "relationship" (e.g., son, daughter), this was included in the 1880 Census... and Thomas was identified as a "Servant" rather than a "Son". Was this [[jesse_thomas_jackson_clarke|Jesse Thomas Jackson Clark]]? | Note: While Thomas was listed as an "Adams" in the 1870 Census, he was listed as a "Clark" in the 1880 Census.
