Joseph (Franklin) Maret
Son of Isom Maret (1792–1865) and Phoebie Walters (1795-1861), Joseph (Franklin) Maret was born on Sept. 19, 1824 in Hart County, Georgia.
Joseph Maret married Sarah Ann Holland. Sarah Ann Holland (June 11, 1830 - May 2, 1882) was the daughter of unknown parents.

Note 1: All of the Maret men, and their cook, were “sick” at the time of the 1880 U.S. Census. Note 2: The Maret family had an 80 year old black woman named Charlott working as a cook at the time of the 1880 U.S. Census. It is not known whether she was a former slave who had taken the Maret name, or whether the “Maret” name was incorrectly attached to her by the census taker.
