| Initially, Rick's family lived in a house built above his grandfathers welding company (at 119 Brady St., Toccoa, GA 30577-1803), where both his father and mother worked. The family moved there when Rick was about 7 years old (during 1966). After moving to Patsy Drive, the family bought a color TV with a remote control. But most often, Rick would ask to be left at the "Ritz" to watch movies during Saturday or Sunday afternoons. | When Rick began attending "Toccoa Elementary School", he had difficulty learning to read (perhaps due to a poor teaching strategy at "Toccoa Elementary School"), so he was tutored after school by his Great Aunt Cora Ledbetter (sister of his Grandfather, [[ernest_lawton_brady|Ernest Lawton Brady]]), who was a retired school teacher.
