Wiley Mitchell
Son of William Wilbur Mitchell, Jr. and Catherine A. Moulder, Wiley Mitchell was born in Franklin County, Georgia during 1802.
In about 1825, Wiley Mitchell married Martha Patsy Wilkinson (B. 1804 in Virginia, - D. May 20, 1889 in Hart Co., Georgia). Martha was the daughter of Elisha Wilkinson (Born 1762 in Sussex County, Virginia, - Died 1833 in Franklin County, Georgia)1) and Lucy Abernathy (Born Nov. 30, 1773 in VA - Died August 15, 1837 in Gumlog, Franklin, Georgia)2)
Wiley Mitchell and Martha Patsy Wilkinson had the following children:
- Burrell (or Burwell) Mitchell (1826 in Franklin Co, GA - 1827 in Franklin Co, GA) Possibly named in honor of Martha Patsy Wilkinson's Great Great Uncle (on her mothers side), Burwell Abernathy.
- Elisabeth B. “Elisbes” Mitchell (1829 in GA - )
- Nancy B. Mitchell (Abt 1830 in GA - June 8, 1871 in Hart County, GA)3) Named in honor of Martha Patsy Wilkinson's sister (Nancy Wilkinson Carter).
- Sophia Mitchell (Dec. 21, 1834 in Franklin, GA - July 20, 1900 in Franklin Co, GA) She married Anderson Randal.
- Wiley Thomas Mitchell (Abt. 1837 in Georgia - 1838 in Franklin Co, GA)
- Elisha "Eli" W. Mitchell (February 9, 1839 in Georgia - Sept. 11, 1880 in Franklin County, Georgia) Named in honor of his grandfather (Martha Patsy Wilkinson's father), Elisha Wilkinson. Elisha W. Mitchell married Susannah Jane Randal.
- Sarah “Sallie” Mitchell (Abt 1841 in Georgia - 1908 in Franklin, Georgia)
- Roland (Rabun ???) Mitchell (Abt 1843 in Franklin Co, GA - )

Wiley Mitchell's will was written in August 1861 and recorded in January 1862 in Franklin County, GA. Wiley Mitchell died in Franklin County, GA, on January 20, 1862, but no record was found of his burial.
Martha Patsy Wilkinson-Mitchell died on May 20, 1889. She was buried at “Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery” in Hart County, Georgia.11)
