William Wilbur Mitchell, Sr.
Son of unknown parents, William Wilbur (sometimes appearing as “Wilburn”) Mitchell was born in Ireland during 1748 and immigrated to the Colonies.
During 1770, William Wilbur (or Wilburn) Mitchell, Sr. married Harriet Randolph in Virginia. Harriet Randolph (Born during 1742 in Gloucester, Virginia - Died during 1824 in Franklin County, Georgia).
Harriet Randolph was the daughter of Mr. Beverley Randolph (believed to have been born December 27, 1710 on Turkey Island, (Henrico County), Virginia - Died 1784) and Agatha Wormeley (Born September 10, 1720 in Middlesex County, Virginia - Died October 28, 1822 in Rosegill (Middlesex County), Virginia).
Agatha Wormeley was Mr. Beverley Randolph's second wife. They were married on January 21, 1742 in Middlesex, Virginia. His first wife had been Elizabeth Lightfoot, who he married during 1730 in Virginia.
William Wilbur (or Wilburn) Mitchell, Sr. and Harriet Randolph are believed to have had the following children:

- William Mitchell (Born April 27, 1772 in Fayetteville (Fayette County)*, GA - ). Married Catherine Moulder. Catherine was the daughter of Daniel Moulder and Catherine Pretzes.
- James Mitchell (Born April 27, 1772 in Fayetteville (Fayette County)*, GA - 1842). Married Mary Moulder (Born February 17, 1777 - Died February 7, 1837 in Franklin Co., Georgia). Mary was the daughter of Daniel Moulder and Catherine Pretzes.
- John Randolph Mitchell (1774 - )
- Joseph Mitchell (1776 - )
- Martha Mitchell (1779 - )
* A birthplace of Fayetteville (Fayette County), GA is highly questionable. It was more likely Franklin County, GA.
William Wilbur Mitchell was a Private in the Georgia Continental Army during the American Revolution. He fought in the Battle of Kings Mountain. After the war, he was granted several lots of land in Georgia for Revolutionary service. He died in Carnesville, (Franklin County) GA.
