Sarah Petula "Pet" Maret

Daughter of Joseph William Maret and Adelia R. Walters-Maret, Sarah Petula Maret, known to friends and family as “Pet”, was born on July 14, 1881 in Hart County, Georgia.

During 1898, Sarah Petula “Pet” Maret (about 17 years old) married Wade Hampton “Hamp” Cawthon.¹⁾

Wade Hampton “Hamp” Cawthon, the son of Eldridge Limertime “Tine” Cawthon²⁾ and Nancy Susannah Whitworth Cawthon³⁾, was born on July 7, 1877, in Franklin County, Georgia.

They had the following children:

Sarah Petula “Pet” Maret-Cawthon died on Oct. 17, 1973 (at age 92). He was buried in “Toccoa Cemetery”, Toccoa (Stephens County), Georgia.⁵⁾
